The main features of this 300-acre park, located about a mile due west of the town of Windsor, are two bass fishing lakes that were reclaimed from former gravel pits. Though the park does indeed front the Russian River, as its name suggests, the main 2-mile trail loop provides access primarily to the lakes. Another shorter loop trail traverses Redwood Hill and the group picnic areas. Individual shady picnic sites under redwood groves, drinking water and flush toilets, as well as a volleyball court and horseshoe pit, are available. Segments of the trails can be seasonally flooded and inaccessible in winter during high flow events in the Russian River.
